UFC light heavyweight contender Alex Pereira addressed the perceived animosity between himself and his upcoming opponent, Magomed Ankalaev.
Pereira stated his preference for maintaining respectful relationships, even with those he competes against. “I always aim to steer clear of disputes with my adversaries,” he explained. “Even post-fight, my intention is to remain cordial, as you`ve witnessed. I`ve even discussed training alongside past opponents. I`m unsure why this situation is different.”
He addressed Ankalaev`s repeated assertions that Pereira was avoiding a fight. “He frequently alleged that I was dodging him, unwilling to face him in the octagon. That simply isn`t true.” Pereira clarified the real reason for the delay. “It`s well-known that the UFC wasn`t pushing for this fight. The holdup was never on my end. I hold no animosity towards him. My consistent approach is to foster friendliness and prevent any altercations.”
