While the 2025 CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup Finals dominate European beach volleyball this week, teams not participating in that event will have a prime opportunity to compete at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures tournament in Leuven, Belgium.

For the fifth consecutive year, Leuven is set to host international beach volleyball. Matches will take place at the iconic Monseigneur Ladeuzeplein square from Friday until Monday, coinciding with Belgium`s National Day.
Men`s Tournament Highlights
Hoping to give local fans an additional reason to celebrate on the final day, host nation Belgium will feature four men`s teams directly in the main draw: Kyan Vercauteren/Joppe Van Langendonck, Louis Vandecaveye/Gilles Vandecaveye, Christophe Witvrouwen/Daan Hendrikx, and Berre Peters/Wout Nuyttens.
Both Vercauteren/Van Langendonck, who secured victory in Qidong, China, last month, and the Vandecaveye brothers, who won in Ios, Greece, in June, have already claimed Futures titles this season.
The event will also feature two Olympians: Edgar Tocs from Latvia (Tokyo 2020, paired with Gustavs Auzins) and Piotr Kantor from Poland (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, partnering with Artem Besarab).
Men`s teams from 18 nations will participate, including Belgium (5 teams), Germany (3), Poland (3), Czechia (2), Sweden (2), Argentina, Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, and Switzerland.
Women`s Tournament Overview
Similarly, the women`s main draw will feature four Belgian duos: Youna Coens/Sarah Cools, Lisa Van Den Vonder/Louka Maertens, Jade Van Deun/Lotte De Clercq, and Britt Ruysschaert/Isabel Van den Broeck.
Unlike their male counterparts, Belgian women`s teams are still seeking their first Beach Pro Tour medal of 2025 and aim to achieve this milestone on home soil.
Of the 28 women`s teams entered, Belgium leads with five duos, followed by the Netherlands (4), Finland (2), Peru (2), Poland (2), and single teams from Argentina, Austria, Canada, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, Morocco, Norway, Slovakia, and the United States.

Event Schedule
The tournament kicks off with qualifiers for both genders on the first day. The main draw commences on Saturday with pool play, leading into Sunday`s elimination rounds. Semifinals and medal matches are slated for Monday.
These Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe, organized by the CEV in close collaboration with Volleyball World, offer European teams crucial opportunities to compete and earn significant international ranking points.
