Borussia Dortmund’s central defender, Nico Schlotterbeck, is reportedly drawing significant interest from top Premier League clubs as his contract situation at the German side remains unresolved.
Last week, it appeared the 26-year-old was on the verge of signing a contract extension, which would have concluded the prolonged negotiations. However, following Germany’s recent 2-1 victory over Ghana, Schlotterbeck himself clarified that no agreement had been reached, casting doubt on his future at the club.
Several factors are believed to be contributing to the delay in finalizing a new deal. One prominent reason is Schlotterbeck’s reported desire to renegotiate both his salary and release clause with Borussia Dortmund’s newly appointed sporting director, Nils-Ole Book.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly keen on acquiring the talented defender, reigniting their pursuit of him.
