The 2025 European season of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures series culminates this week, marking the final instance this year where two significant tournaments will be held concurrently across the continent.

This week, the spotlight falls on Budapest, Hungary, and Warsaw, Poland. Budapest is set to stage a double-gender tournament, while Warsaw will feature a men-only event, with both running from Thursday to Sunday.

Leon Luini, a silver medalist at the 2023 EuroBeachVolley from the Netherlands, is set to compete in Budapest this week.

Returning to the international calendar for the first time since 2022 – its third time hosting such an event – the Hungarian capital will see the Budapest Garden serve as the venue. This tournament will bring together a total of 56 teams, with 28 competing in each gender category.

Budapest Futures Tournament

The men`s competition in Budapest will showcase talent from 17 nations, including five teams from Hungary, three from Norway, two each from Czechia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Spain, and Türkiye, alongside teams from Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Men`s Competition Highlights in Budapest

Norwegian siblings Markus and Adrian Mol lead the men`s seedings; this marks only their second Futures appearance this season, following a fifth-place finish in Valencia in May. Another highlight will be the participation of Dutch athlete Leon Luini, a silver medalist from the 2023 CEV EuroBeachVolley, who will partner with Yannick Verberne.

For the women`s tournament, 28 teams representing 17 nations are slated to compete. These include five teams from Hungary, three from Czechia, two each from Finland, Israel, Lithuania, the Philippines, and Spain, as well as participants from Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Women`s Competition Highlights in Budapest

Lithuania`s Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite are the top-seeded women`s duo in Budapest, with Spain`s Ana Vergara and Nazaret Florian close behind as the second seed.

Warsaw Futures Tournament

Warsaw Kicks Off with Men`s Event

In Warsaw, the Plaża Wilanów will host two consecutive weeks of action. The men`s tournament runs from Thursday to Sunday, followed by the women`s event from September 11-14. This year marks the ninth consecutive tournament hosted in the city since 2018.

The Polish capital will welcome teams from 17 countries this week, including six from Poland, three from Czechia, two each from Germany, Latvia, Sweden, and Ukraine, along with teams from Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Estonia, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland.

Men`s Competition Highlights in Warsaw

As the host nation with the largest contingent of teams, Poland also boasts the top two seeded duos: Jedrzej Brozyniak and Piotr Janiak, alongside Piotr Kantor and Filip Lejawa.

Both tournaments will adhere to a consistent schedule: qualifiers on Thursday, followed by main pool play on Friday, elimination rounds on Saturday, and concluding with the semifinals and medal matches on Sunday.

Organized by the CEV in close collaboration with Volleyball World, the Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe offer continental teams numerous opportunities to compete and accumulate crucial international ranking points.
