The second annual Romanian Beach Volleyball Clubs Championships recently concluded, demonstrating steady growth. This year`s competition saw participation from seven men`s clubs and four women`s clubs. Many of these teams are affiliated with universities, benefiting from institutional support to foster the development of Beach Volleyball across Romania.
CSU ASE Bucharest successfully defended their women`s championship title from the previous year.
Following three intense days of captivating matches, CSU ASE Bucharest secured their second consecutive women`s title. Their victory came after a tightly fought final against CSU Galati, culminating in a thrilling golden set win of 21-19. UVT Timisoara earned the bronze medals.
For the men`s event, CSU Resita delivered a surprising and dominant 2-0 win over UVT Timisoara in the final. The privately-funded club PRO Volei Arad, noted for its dedication to nurturing young male Beach Volleyball talent, claimed the bronze medals, completing the podium.
CSU Resita unexpectedly clinched the men`s championship, triumphing over six other competing clubs.
The championships served as an excellent platform to highlight the advantages of a club-based competition, particularly in Romania, where all players are officially registered with clubs, enabling broader participation and competition in Beach Volleyball.
Both victorious teams have earned the right to represent Romania in the preliminary rounds of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025, set to take place in late September or early October.
