The second annual Romanian Beach Volleyball Clubs Championships recently concluded, marking another step in the sport`s steady growth within the country. This year`s event saw participation from seven men`s clubs and four women`s clubs. A significant number of these teams are university-affiliated, benefiting from the robust support of their respective institutions in promoting and developing beach volleyball across Romania.

CSU ASE Bucharest successfully defended their women`s title.
Following three days of intense and spectacular matches, CSU ASE Bucharest secured the women`s championship for the second consecutive year. Their victory came after a closely contested final against CSU Galati, which was ultimately decided in a dramatic golden set, concluding 21-19. The bronze medals in the women`s competition were awarded to UVT Timisoara.

CSU Resita claimed the men`s crown in a surprising fashion.
In the men`s tournament, CSU Resita delivered a notable performance, achieving a comprehensive 2-0 victory over UVT Timisoara in the final. The privately-run club PRO Volei Arad, known for its dedication to developing beach volleyball, particularly among young boys, completed the podium by securing the bronze medals.
This championship served as an excellent platform to highlight the advantages of a club-based competition format, especially pertinent in a country like Romania where all players are registered with clubs, enabling them to compete for higher accolades on the sand.
Both CSU ASE Bucharest and CSU Resita have now earned the right to represent Romania in the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025, which is scheduled to take place in late September or early October.
