The Czech Volleyball Federation recently held a national club competition for Beach Volleyball, which also served as a crucial qualifier for the 2025 CEV Beach Volley European Cup. This year`s tournament featured an innovative structure, where clubs` starting positions in the various rounds were determined by their performance in previous years.

The competition began with a round-robin phase where clubs battled in a best-of-five format, incorporating matches from men`s, women`s, and mixed teams. Successful clubs from the pool stage advanced to the semi-finals, culminating in decisive gold and bronze medal matches.

The semi-finals saw a rematch between BVŠP A and BC Strahov, echoing last year`s rivalry, alongside a clash between BK Pankrác and BK Ládví. Notably, a significant portion of the semi-final and medal matches – three instances in total – were ultimately decided by thrilling final duels featuring mixed-gender teams.

For the bronze medal, BK Ládví triumphed over BC Strahov, with their women`s teams securing two crucial victories. The men`s pair Hladík/Jachnicki clinched a third win, securing the bronze for BK Ládví, leaving Strahov in fourth. The grand final was a nail-biting affair, determined by a mixed-team showdown. Honzovičová and Mikulenka, representing Beachclub Prague Sports Club, defeated the strong, previously unbeaten duo of Lorenzová and Semerád. This meant Beachclub Prague Pankrác claimed the championship title, while Beach Volleyball School Prague A (BVŠP A) finished as runners-up.

The selection process for Czechia`s representatives at the 2025 CEV Beach Volley European Cup considered the total number of wins in each gender category across all matches played over the weekend. Beachclub Prague Pankrác`s women`s team delivered an outstanding undefeated performance, earning them a coveted spot in the European Cup. Although Beachclub Strahov excelled in the men`s matches, they had already secured their European Cup qualification by winning the MEVZA zonal event in Bratislava earlier this year. Consequently, BK Ládví, as the next highest-ranking club, will also represent Czechia in the men`s preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup.

Appreciation was also given to the referees, enthusiastic fans, and spectators, but most importantly, to all the players for their exceptional performances and fierce competitive spirit.
