European women`s pairs showcased outstanding results at this week`s Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures beach volleyball tournament held in Geneva. Teams from Europe secured both silver and bronze medals, marking a significant presence from the continent.
The competition, which ran from Thursday to Sunday at La Rotonde du Mont-Blanc by the lake, brought together athletes from 14 countries. Ultimately, it was duos from Lithuania and France who proudly represented Europe on the podium.

Lithuanian volleyball players Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite demonstrated exceptional skill by advancing all the way to the final match. However, they faced a formidable challenge from Americans Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig, eventually losing 1:2 (16-21, 24-26, 5-15). The American pair, remarkably, claimed the gold after starting their campaign in the qualifying rounds.
European Success Continues in Futures Series
In the battle for the bronze medal, the French duo of Elsa Descamps and Romane Sobezalz delivered a dominant performance. They confidently defeated Canadians Kaylee and Emma Glagau in straight sets (21-12, 21-16), securing a well-deserved third place on the podium.
Looking ahead, the next Beach Pro Tour Futures event is scheduled to take place in the French city of Montpellier, running from Thursday to Sunday of next week.
