Germany, a powerhouse in women`s beach volleyball, recently added another significant title to their impressive collection by triumphing in the fourth edition of the CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup Finals, which concluded on Sunday in Espinho.

With a record nine EuroBeachVolley titles and being the only European nation to have an Olympic gold medal in women`s beach volleyball, Germany further cemented its leading position on the continent with this victory at Praia da Baía.
Remaining undefeated throughout the entire week in Portugal, the German team faced a challenging series against promising Ukrainian duos in the final, ultimately winning both matches to clinch the title in Espinho.
The opening match of the championship series was intensely competitive. Germany`s new pairing, Sandra Ittlinger and Anna-Lena Grüne, secured a hard-fought victory over Valentyna Davidova and Anhelina Khmil in a tie-breaker (18-21, 21-14, 15-13), giving Germany an early lead.

An hour later, reigning EuroBeachVolley champions Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann took to the sand and reaffirmed their status as the continent`s top team. They decisively defeated Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko in straight sets (21-18, 21-8), sparking celebrations for the German squad in Portugal.
This triumph in Espinho also grants Germany an additional qualification spot for the upcoming 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship, scheduled to take place from November 14-23 in Australia, via the continental pathway.
The Beach Nations Cup, introduced to the European beach volleyball calendar in 2022, is an exciting “country versus country” competition, drawing parallels to tennis`s Davis Cup.
