The second annual Swedish Beach Volleyball Club Championships concluded at the end of June in Norrköping, south of Stockholm, showcasing thrilling competition over three intense days. In the men`s division, Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb successfully defended their title, securing their second consecutive championship. For the women, Gothenburg Beach Club emerged victorious, triumphing over last year`s champions, The Beach. Both winning teams have earned the esteemed right to represent Sweden in the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup in 2025.
This championship event was a highlight of the summer for Swedish Beach Volleyball. A total of 16 clubs, split equally with eight teams in both the women’s and men’s categories, competed fiercely for the 2025 Club Champion titles. Following the outstanding success of its inaugural edition in 2024, this year`s tournament further solidified its position as a major event on the national beach volleyball calendar.
The men’s final saw a gripping battle between the reigning champions, Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb, and Gothenburg Beach Club, a prominent Swedish club renowned for its players with international experience. The match concluded with the closest possible outcome: Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb secured the title with a narrow 15-13 victory in a decisive golden set, after both clubs had won one match with their respective pairings.
Similarly, the women’s final delivered an equally dramatic spectacle, also requiring a golden set to determine the gold medal winners. In a thrilling encounter, Gothenburg Beach Club demonstrated superior form, ultimately overcoming the defending champions, The Beach, a local Stockholm club, with a 15-11 score in the tie-breaking set.
