The second annual Swedish Beach Volleyball Club Championships took place over three days in late June in Norrköping, south of Stockholm. In the men`s competition, Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb successfully defended their title, securing their second consecutive championship. Meanwhile, the women`s team from Gothenburg Beach Club triumphed over last year`s champions, The Beach. Both winning clubs have earned the opportunity to represent Sweden in the preliminary stage of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025.
This year`s Swedish Beach Volleyball Club Championships stood out as a premier event of the summer season in Swedish beach volleyball. A total of 16 teams, evenly split between the men`s and women`s divisions, competed intensely over three days to claim the 2025 national club championship. This marked only the second iteration of the competition, following its highly successful inauguration in 2024. The men`s final saw Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb face off against Gothenburg Beach Club, Sweden`s largest beach volleyball club, which boasts numerous internationally experienced players. The outcome was incredibly close, with Slow Down Beachvolleyklubb ultimately securing the title with a 15-13 victory in a thrilling golden set, after each of the club`s pairs had won one match.
The women`s final proved to be just as captivating, also requiring a golden set to determine the gold medalists. In this decisive encounter, Gothenburg demonstrated superior strength, overcoming the reigning champions The Beach, a local Stockholm club, with a final score of 15-11 in the tie-breaking set.
