This summer marked a significant milestone for Portuguese beach volleyball as the national federation hosted its first-ever domestic competition exclusively for beach volleyball clubs. Held at Praia de Albarquel in Setúbal, this inaugural event also served as a crucial qualifier for the preliminary phase of the 2025 CEV Beach Volley European Cup.

This initiative clearly underscores the increasing popularity of the new continental CEV European Cup and its vital role in fostering the continued development of beach volleyball across Europe. Both the men`s and women`s teams representing the Helisandsacademy emerged victorious, thereby securing the coveted right to represent Portugal in the initial stage of the European Cup.
It has been a particularly dynamic and exciting summer for Portugal`s beach volleyball community. Prior to this event, the city of Espinho had the honor of hosting the Beach Volley Nations Cup Final in mid-July. During that high-profile competition, teams from Norway and Germany triumphantly secured the titles among men and women, respectively, further highlighting Portugal`s growing engagement with and contribution to the international beach volleyball scene.
