The final round of the U16 European Volleyball Championship (#EuroVolleyU16M) officially began in Yerevan on July 23. This prestigious tournament brings together sixteen of the continent`s top teams in this age category. The Armenian Volleyball Federation dedicated extensive efforts to prepare for this significant event. All matches are being hosted across two key venues: the Gazprom-Armenia Sports Complex and the Armenian-Slavic University.

Poland and Latvia competed on the second day of action at #EuroVolleyU16M in Yerevan, Armenia.
Each day, Armenian volleyball enthusiasts are treated to a schedule packed with up to eight thrilling matches, bringing immense joy and excitement to the spectators. The event`s historic journey unofficially commenced on July 19, with a grand announcement in the heart of Yerevan and a special presentation of the Armenian U16 national team alongside the championship`s official mascot, Hovazik.
The tournament has already witnessed numerous intense and captivating encounters. Following the first two days of competition, Poland, Greece, and Spain have established a flawless record in Pool I, securing two victories each. Similarly, Czechia, reigning champions Italy, and France boast an identical 2-0 win-loss record in Pool II, demonstrating strong early performances.

Team Armenia has played against Greece and Romania so far in Pool I.
As a gesture of encouragement, the organizers introduced a special award for the top scorer in each match on the opening day. These coveted prizes were presented by a true legend of Armenian volleyball, Nina Muradyan. As a silver medalist from the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and a European champion, Ms. Muradyan serves as the championship`s most esteemed guest and ambassador.
The exciting competition in Yerevan is set to continue until August 3, culminating in the crowning of this year`s champions. This event is widely regarded as a vital platform, showcasing the burgeoning talent and future stars of European volleyball.
