Maritza PLOVDIV left no room for surprises in this season`s national cup competition, securing the Kupa Bulgariya trophy for the ninth consecutive time, marking their eleventh title overall.

In the final championship showdown held Sunday at the Hristo Botev volleyball hall in Sofia, Bulgaria’s perennial contender in the women’s CEV Champions League Volley swept Levski SOFIA with a dominant 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-21) victory. The “Yellow-and-Blues” were led by opposite hitter Iva Dudova, who was the match’s top scorer with 17 points.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award went to middle blocker Borislava Saykova. Her stellar performance included five crucial kill blocks, two aces, and an impressive 78% attack success rate. Outside hitter Viktoria Koeva also reached double digits, contributing 10 points solely through successful spikes.

Sunday’s final was the climax of a three-day, eight-team Bulgaria Cup tournament. Maritza’s path to the trophy began with a straight-sets quarterfinal sweep against Minyor PERNIK. In the semi-finals, they demonstrated resilience by coming back from a set down to defeat CPVK SOFIA in four sets, paving the way for their successful title defense.
