Valentina Bifflin, President of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA), and Frane Zanic, MEVZA Director and President of the Croatian Volleyball Federation, recently visited Cyprus as official guests of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation, reinforcing the strong partnership between the organizations.

On Friday evening, the MEVZA officials attended the men`s Super Cup Final at Afrodite Hall. In an exciting match, Pafiakos PAFOS defeated Anorthosis FAMAGUSTA 3-1, securing their fifth Super Cup title since the competition`s inception in 1992. Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic participated in the awards ceremony.

The following morning, both MEVZA officials addressed the annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation. Federation President Dr. Costas Constantinou extended a warm welcome to the guests. The assembly began with a moment of silence in tribute to Andreas Stavrou, an honorary Board Member and former Small Countries Division President, who passed away earlier this year. In their speeches, Bifflin and Zanic underscored the significance of Cyprus`s engagement within the zonal association and the remarkable progress of Cypriot volleyball over the past two years. This occasion marked the first time foreign officials had addressed the General Assembly in the history of Cyprus Volleyball.

In recognition of their contributions and ongoing support, Dr. Constantinou presented the MEVZA representatives with commemorative plaques, which were small replicas of the 2025 Super Cup shields.
Olympiada Neapolis successfully defended their women`s title for the fourth consecutive year, witnessed by the MEVZA leadership.
Later that day, the MEVZA delegation attended the women`s Super Cup Final at Lefkotheo Hall in Nicosia. Olympiada Neapolis secured their fourth straight title in the competition by defeating Apollon LIMASSOL in straight sets. The MEVZA President and Director also joined this awards ceremony.
