The Beach Pro Tour arrives in France this week, with Montpellier hosting a dual-gender Futures event from Thursday to Sunday. This significant stop follows a series of successful tournaments held across Europe, including Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Bulgaria, Czechia, Latvia, Sweden, and Greece, continuing the exciting beach volleyball season.
Montpellier, a city renowned for being a training hub for French national sports teams, is set to be the stage for this tournament. The event will take place at the well-regarded Montpellier Beach Volley Club, conveniently located within the beautiful Parc de La Rauze.
French Anouk Dupin has had an impressive 2025 season, securing multiple medals.
Many accomplished players who have already achieved podium finishes in Beach Pro Tour Futures events this season are confirmed to compete. Among the prominent female athletes is the 22-year-old French talent Anouk Dupin, who has demonstrated exceptional form in 2025. She has claimed four medals across four tournaments with three different partners: gold in Valencia with Saofe Duval and in Jurmala with Marine Kinna, silver in Madrid alongside Alex Merle, and bronze in Battipaglia with Kinna. For this event, Dupin will partner with 28-year-old Elsa Descamps, who recently secured a bronze medal in Geneva with Romane Sobezalz. Saofe Duval, another consistent medalist this season, also earned a bronze in Ios with Marilu Pally.
Women`s Tournament Highlights
The women`s competition will see two teams that previously won gold aiming for another victory: Czechia’s Martina Maixnerova and Kylie Neuschaeferova, champions in Messina, and Germany’s Janne Uhl and Paula Schürholz, who triumphed in Madrid. The women`s field also includes Estonian silver medalists Eva Liisa Kuivonen and Liisa-Lotta Jürgenson from Jurmala, alongside Spanish players Sofía Izuzquiza, Sofía González, and Ana Vergara. The Sofías earned bronze together in Kraków, while Izuzquiza additionally claimed bronze in Sveti Vlas with Vergara. The women`s tournament is set to feature 28 teams representing 17 countries, with four entries from the host nation, France.
Men`s Tournament Highlights
The men`s competition also boasts a strong lineup of accomplished players. Austrians Robin Seidl and Alexander Huber, who previously represented their country at the Rio 2016 Olympics, form a formidable duo. Since reuniting, they have already secured two bronze medals this season in Battipaglia and Ios.

Germany`s Robin Sowa and Jonas Reinhardt, competing in their first Beach Pro Tour season together, have already made their mark by taking silver in Cervia. Other notable medalists include the Spanish pair Antonio Saucedo and Álvaro Iglesias, who earned bronze in Malmö, and Bulgarians Dimitar Kalchev and Dimitar Mehandzhiyski, who secured Bulgaria`s first-ever Beach Pro Tour medal with a bronze in Sveti Vlas. The men`s event will also host 28 duos, representing 18 nations, with France leading the participation with five teams.
Tournament Schedule
The Montpellier tournament will commence on Thursday with qualifying rounds for both men`s and women`s categories. The main draw, featuring intense pool play, will begin on Friday and continue with the elimination rounds on Saturday. Sunday will be the climax of the event, hosting the semifinals and medal matches, promising an exciting conclusion to the competition.
These Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe are collaboratively organized by the CEV and Volleyball World. They provide invaluable opportunities for European teams to compete at an international level and accumulate essential ranking points, fostering the development of beach volleyball talent across the continent.
