Preview Pablo Matera Set to Break Argentina Caps Record

This milestone will be reached in the upcoming match against England.

In San Juan, Pablo Matera is poised to make history for Argentine rugby. He is set to become the most-capped player for the national team, `Los Pumas`, when he earns his 111th cap, surpassing the current record of 110 held by Agustin Creevy.

The flanker made his debut on May 1, 2013, against Chile. He served as team captain from 2018 to 2021. Matera has featured in three Rugby World Cups (2015, 2019, 2023), playing 13 matches across these tournaments. He has scored 13 tries for Los Pumas.

In the upcoming match in San Juan, Argentina will be seeking revenge for their previous defeat against England in La Plata (12-35). San Juan was the venue where Los Pumas last secured a significant victory, defeating Australia 48-17 in 2022.
