This July, Düsseldorf is poised to host the EuroBeachVolley 2025, an event promising an unparalleled display of Beach Volleyball talent. The tournament will feature a formidable roster of elite teams, including reigning Olympic, World, and European champions, alongside a new wave of promising young duos eager to challenge the sport`s established stars. With 32 teams per gender, the group stage draw is scheduled for Monday, July 7, at 4 PM CEST.

Men`s Tournament Highlights

The men`s competition boasts an especially star-studded field. Among the notable participants are Sweden`s David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, the current Olympic champions and two-time EuroBeachVolley winners (2022, 2023). They will face strong contention from Norway`s Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, Olympic champions from Tokyo 2020, 2022 World Champions, and four-time consecutive European champions (2018-2021). Czechia`s Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner, the reigning World Champions, also join the lineup. Last year`s sensational EuroBeachVolley winners, Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots of Latvia, and Germany`s home heroes, Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, who secured silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics, further elevate the competition`s profile.

Beach Volleyball veteran Adrian Gavira of Spain returns for his 14th consecutive appearance, now partnered with Alejandro Huerta. Gavira, a EuroBeachVolley gold medalist in 2013, looks to repeat past successes. Similarly, the Netherlands` Alexander Brouwer, a 2013 World Champion and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist with former partner Robert Meeuwsen, continues his pursuit of continental gold with new teammate Steven van de Velde. The men’s field draws teams from 16 nations, with Germany leading with six entries, followed by the Netherlands and Switzerland, each with three.

The women`s tournament is equally competitive, featuring six former European champions. This includes Germany’s Cinja Tillmann and Svenja Müller, who claimed victory last year in The Hague. Switzerland`s Tanja Hüberli and Anouk Vergé-Dépré, though not with their current partners, are also former “Queens of Europe” looking for another title. Germany also has the largest contingent in the women`s event with seven teams, while Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Ukraine each contribute three teams.
