The upcoming EuroBeachVolley in Düsseldorf is set to feature a spectacular lineup of elite teams, including Olympic, World, and European champions. Alongside established stars, a new generation of promising duos, who have excelled in age-group championships, will challenge the sport`s top players. On Monday, July 7, the 32 teams for both men`s and women`s tournaments will be drawn into eight pools for the group stage. The drawing of lots will be broadcast live starting at 4 PM CEST.

Men`s Competition Highlights

The men`s competition boasts an impressive roster of stars, including Swedish Olympic champions David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, who also hold EuroBeachVolley titles from 2022 and 2023. They will be joined by Norway’s Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, Olympic champions from Tokyo 2020, 2022 World Champions, and an unparalleled four-time European champions (2018-2021). Also competing are current World Champions Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner of Czechia, last year`s EuroBeachVolley surprise winners Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots of Latvia, and Germany`s own Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, who secured Olympic silver at Paris 2024.

Spanish veteran Adrian Gavira makes his 14th consecutive appearance at the continental event, partnering with Alejandro Huerta; Gavira previously won EuroBeachVolley gold in 2013. Dutch World Champion (2013) and Olympic bronze medalist (2016) Alexander Brouwer will chase a European title with his new partner Steven van de Velde. Teams from 16 countries will participate in the men`s event, with Germany leading the entries with six teams, followed by the Netherlands and Switzerland with three each.

Women`s Competition Highlights

The women`s tournament will feature six past European champions, including reigning champions Cinja Tillmann and Svenja Müller from Germany, who claimed victory last year in The Hague. Latvian duo Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova, two-time European champions (2019, 2022), will also compete. Switzerland`s Tanja Hüberli and Anouk Vergé-Dépré, former “Queens of Europe” with previous partners, are also among the entrants. Fourteen countries are represented in the women`s draw, with Germany again having the largest contingent with seven teams, followed by Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Ukraine, each sending three teams.

Top Seeds and Venue

Based on the EuroBeachVolley Entry Ranking, the top seven teams, along with Germany`s highest-ranked host country team, will be seeded to lead the preliminary pools. Anders Mol and Christian Sørum currently top the men`s entry list, while Italy`s Valentina Gottardi and Reka Orsi Toth lead the women`s. Gottardi secured a silver medal last year with her former partner Marta Menegatti, who is currently on a break from professional play.

Top 8 Women`s Teams

The tournament is scheduled from July 30 to August 3 at Düsseldorf`s historic Rochus Tennisclub, a venue renowned for hosting tennis legends. This year, it will welcome Beach Volleyball`s brightest stars. Public enthusiasm is high, with tickets for the final three days of competition already completely sold out.
