Poland has carved its name into history by securing their second FIVB Men`s Volleyball Nations League title, achieving a decisive 3:0 victory over Italy in the final of this year`s edition.
This marks Poland`s second championship in the competition`s history, placing them alongside France and Russia as the most decorated teams. The European squad has now collected six medals in seven editions of the FIVB Men`s Volleyball Nations League.
Path to Glory
Finishing fifth in the preliminary round implied a challenging path to the title for Poland. However, they initiated the final round in Ningbo, China, with a dominant 3:0 win against Japan (25:23; 26:24; 25:12).
This set up a semi-final clash for Poland against Brazil, who had the best record in the tournament at that point, with 12 wins and only one loss.
Yet again, Poland proved too formidable. In a match where Kewin Sasak contributed 18 points, they handed Brazil a decisive 3:0 defeat, paving the way for an all-European final against Italy. Italy had previously dominated Cuba and Slovenia in their final round matches, winning both by identical 3:1 scores.

Final Showdown Dominance
Nevertheless, there was no doubt about the eventual winner in the final. Poland delivered another clinical performance, appearing unstoppable at times, with their consistent strong play confirming their title credentials.
Nikola Grbić`s team secured the first set 25:22 and maintained their momentum, delivering a flawless display where they conceded only 33 points across the subsequent two sets, sealing their second title in the competition with 25:19 and 25:14 wins.
Poland`s Cuban-born star outside hitter, Wilfredo Leon, proved to be an excellent substitute for the injured Tomasz Fornal in this match. Leon was the top scorer in the gold medal showdown with 16 points, complemented by Kamil Semeniuk`s 14 points.
“This means a great deal! I know they were anticipating my return to playing at a high level, so I gave my absolute best. I told them, `I won`t leave you guys alone! Fornal got injured, but I`ll be there!` I truly gave it my all! So, we earned the gold medal, and I am genuinely happy and proud!”
Tournament Standings
Italy finished as runner-up, securing their inaugural medal in the competition, while Brazil claimed the bronze medal with a 3:1 victory over Slovenia in the third-place match.
