The CEV Beach Volley European Cup is witnessing remarkable growth in its third edition, attracting a record number of participants. A staggering 28 men’s and 22 women’s clubs have registered for the preliminary phase, scheduled for late September and early October. This enthusiastic response involves 24 National Federations, highlighting a successful initiative designed to empower beach volleyball clubs and foster the sport`s development across Europe.

Since its inauguration in 2023, the CEV Beach Volley European Cup has expanded steadily. The inaugural event, held in Balikesir, Türkiye, in early autumn 2023, featured 10 clubs per gender from nine National Federations. By last year, when Montpellier hosted the event, participation had already grown to 16 clubs per gender from 15 National Federations. The 2025 edition further demonstrates this momentum by mobilising three Zonal Associations (BVA, MEVZA, and WEVZA) to host qualifying events.
The list of clubs for the preliminary phase was confirmed today, following a busy summer that saw homologated domestic club competitions held in 26 countries. These impressive figures underscore the pivotal role of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup. Its unique and appealing format emphasizes the collective strength and depth of clubs rather than individual player excellence, making it a powerful catalyst for the sport`s expansion.

Many clubs from various National Federations are set to make their historic debut in the competition this year. Additionally, certain countries have earned the privilege of registering two clubs, a testament to their strong position in the European Ranking and/or their success in zonal qualifiers. While most National Federations have registered teams in both genders, Armenia, Czechia, England, the Netherlands, and Switzerland will specifically feature only in the men’s competition. Conversely, Lithuania has exclusively registered for the women’s event.

The seven remaining clubs destined to contest the final in each gender will emerge from the preliminary phase later this month and early October.
