Saskia van Hintum, a distinguished figure in volleyball with over four decades of experience as both a professional player (17 years) and a full-time coach (22 years) in indoor and beach disciplines, is set to make her debut as a speaker at the 2025 CEV Coaches Convention in Zadar, Croatia, from September 26-28.

Van Hintum accepted the invitation, citing her desire to connect with fellow passionate coaches and to impart the extensive knowledge she has accumulated through her diverse playing and coaching career across various countries. Crucially, she also aims to be an inspiring role model for female coaches, demonstrating that authenticity and excellence are indispensable for achieving top-tier success.
Her presentation will delve into the nuances of setting and how coaching methodologies have evolved over time. The session is designed to be interactive and dialogue-driven, offering insights from her personal experiences and observations on the changing dynamics of coach expectations and athlete requirements.
Having been deeply involved in youth development, including her recent role as assistant coach for Germany`s Girls’ U19 World Championship team, Van Hintum plans to highlight a critical point at the Convention: the urgent necessity of early physical education for young athletes.
Her philosophy strongly resonates with the core themes of the 2025 Convention, particularly “The Coach in the Centre,” “Inspiration in Motion,” and “Not Just a Convention, a Movement.”
As a coach who exemplifies continuous learning and adapts through experience, Saskia van Hintum is poised to deliver both profound inspiration and practical wisdom to the Zadar convention.
