Napoli's Gabriel Jesus Dream: Agent Denies Negotiations with Player and Arsenal

Giovanni Branchini, the agent of Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, has addressed the recent speculation linking his client to Napoli. While acknowledging that several clubs have inquired about the Brazilian's situation, Branchini emphasized that there have been no concrete negotiations with Napoli, the player, or Arsenal.

Branchini's visit to Castel di Sangro was not related to Gabriel Jesus but rather to other matters, including discussions about the contract renewal of Anguissa. He confirmed that over the past several months, numerous clubs have explored Gabriel Jesus' availability and the expectations of Arsenal. Three Italian clubs and a potential fourth had shown interest, particularly if they were to sell a key forward and consider a move for Gabriel Jesus.

However, Branchini clarified that apart from a couple of Turkish clubs that were dismissed due to the player's lack of interest in a move to Turkey, no other significant negotiations have taken place. Regarding Napoli specifically, he stated unequivocally, "We have never spoken about this situation: there has never been any negotiation and consequently, there could not have been an 'okay' from us or the player."

While acknowledging that "dreaming is possible," Branchini stressed that such dreams can only materialize under specific conditions, which are currently non-existent. He added that stating otherwise would be disadvantageous for both Napoli and Gabriel Jesus at this stage.

Gabriel Jesus, Branchini's Words

“My trip was not related to Gabriel Jesus, but to completely different matters that I believe you have identified,” Branchini stated. “For several months, many clubs have been sounding out the player’s situation to understand Arsenal’s intentions and figures, their expectations. I had three Italian clubs and a potential fourth that had shown interest at a stage when they seemed on the verge of selling an important striker from their squad. They had considered the possibility of trying for Gabriel. This is the reality. And I can add that apart from a couple of Turkish clubs, who were rejected because there is no interest in going to Turkey, no other significant negotiations have taken place.”

He then elaborated on the Napoli chapter: “We have never spoken about this situation: there has never been any negotiation and consequently, there could not have been an ‘okay’ from us and the player.” The Neapolitan dream, however, persists. “Dreaming, eventually, is possible under certain conditions that do not exist at this stage. And to say otherwise is inconvenient for Napoli and for Gabriel Jesus.”
