According to Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig's goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has finalized his move to Villarreal. The former captain and seasoned Bundesliga player will join his new La Liga club for a fee of €2 million, with potential performance-based bonuses also included as reported by Sport Bild.

RB Leipzig is also set to acquire a new backup goalkeeper. Following Stuttgart's decision not to pursue him, Ørjan Nyland, a Norwegian World Cup participant, is reportedly nearing a return to the Bundesliga.

Leipzig Nearing Nyland's Return

Sport Bild indicates that free agent Ørjan Nyland is close to rejoining the club. The Norwegian international had previously played for Leipzig during the 2022/23 season when Gulacsi suffered a significant knee injury.

Nyland most recently played for Sevilla but became a free agent this summer. Stuttgart had been hesitant to enter the market for another goalkeeper, as Nyland would likely have had to give up the starting position upon Seimen's return.

A move to Leipzig would offer Nyland a more defined long-term role. With Maarten Vandevoordt established as the club's new primary goalkeeper, the experienced Norwegian would join as a dependable backup and a valuable presence in the dressing room.
