Her sole tournament appearance in 2026 occurred in January at the W100 San Diego ITF tournament, where she withdrew from her second-round match due to an injury. This match ultimately marked her final professional outing. Following several weeks of reflection on her career path, Hartono made the decision in March to step away from competitive tennis.
Hartono cited a desire for a fresh start as a key factor, particularly after a challenging 2025 season in which she recorded 32 losses and concluded the year ranked outside the Top 200. The 29-year-old retires with total career prize money earnings of $922,806.
