The final round of the CEV Snow Volley European Tour is fast approaching, with excitement building for the event scheduled this weekend, March 30-31. Prato Nevoso, Italy, is set to host this highly anticipated competition, where top teams will battle for the championship title.
Twenty-six teams representing ten different nations will compete across both Men`s and Women`s categories. Saturday will feature intense pool and elimination rounds, culminating in the thrilling final phases and award ceremonies on Sunday afternoon. The festivities of the Snow Volley Festival will then extend through Easter Monday, promising a weekend full of exhilarating action and celebration.

Men`s Tournament: A Field of Fierce Competitors
The Men`s tournament boasts eighteen registered teams. Twelve of these are formidable Italian squads, while the remaining six hail from Switzerland, Türkiye, France, Poland, Belgium, and a dynamic wild card entry from Uruguay, ensuring a diverse and highly competitive field.
Among the notable contenders is the French duo of Adrien Pédèches and Iskander El-Ghouti. They previously clinched victory in Round 2 of the European Tour in Erzurum, Türkiye, alongside Daniel Petrov. For this upcoming event, Pédèches and El-Ghouti will be teaming up with Julien Saint-Vanne and Nicolas Salmon, aiming for another strong performance and to defend their reputation.
Poland`s Piotr Groszek, Michal Matyja, and Mikolaj Kaczmarek will be intensely seeking redemption, having been narrowly defeated by France in the Turkish round final. Karole Szczepanik joins them to complete the formidable Polish quartet, determined to reverse their fortunes.
A strong Italian trio comprising Massimo Di Risio, Federico Geromin, and Matteo Camozzi poses a significant threat. They impressively won the inaugural round in Bakuriani, Georgia, earlier in March, triumphing over Poland 1 (Matyja, Ciemachowski, Janiak, Groszek). All eyes will be on them to see if they can replicate their earlier success on home soil.
Other Italian players generating high expectations include Alessandro Carucci and the talented Pizzileo brothers (Filippo, Tommaso, Edoardo), as well as Michele Bennato, Matteo Carlon, Enrico Lupatelli, and Gaetano Vespero. Adding to the excitement, Thomas Berger, Michael Burgmann, and Peter Seeber, who were crowned Italian Snow Volleyball champions in Prato Nevoso last year, are also expected to deliver strong performances on their familiar home ground, leveraging their past victories.

Women`s Tournament: International Rivalries Ignite
The women`s draw features an exciting lineup of eight teams: two from Hungary, one from Türkiye, one from Czechia, one from Austria, and three strong Italian entries, promising a thrilling international showdown.
Italian champions Sofia Arcaini, Sara Breidenbach, and Anna Dalmazzo are anticipated to be key rivals against the formidable Turkish team of Erve Celebi, Zeynep Dila, Nursel Yaren Sencel, and Simge Yalcin. The Turkish quartet has demonstrated exceptional form, winning both the Bakuriani round in Georgia (where they decisively bested their compatriots Simdim, Sayar, Yuceturk, Civan) and their home event in Erzurum against Romania (Hododi, Miu, Bradatan, Shahzada). Their past victories set the stage for intense competition and a highly anticipated clash.
Anticipated Attendance
Overall, more than 250 individuals are anticipated to converge in Prato Nevoso for the combined tournament and Snow Volley Festival. This includes a significant number of elite athletes, dedicated referees, and essential staff, all contributing to what promises to be a memorable and well-attended event.
