The FIVB and Volleyball World have officially confirmed the Netherlands as the host nation for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2027. This decision followed a rigorous bidding process that saw three highly competitive countries submit strong proposals. While all bids were acknowledged for their quality and potential to contribute to the sport’s global expansion, the Netherlands presented the most ambitious and far-reaching concept, designed around four different cities.

The Dutch National Federation (Nevobo) possesses extensive experience in orchestrating major volleyball events, including the Volleyball Nations League and previous FIVB Volleyball World Championships. They have consistently demonstrated their capability to engage communities across various regions.

Commenting on the selection of the 2027 Beach Volleyball World Championships host, FIVB President Fabio Azevedo stated: “The Beach Volleyball World Championships 2027 in the Netherlands signifies both a return and a bold step forward, perfectly aligning with the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032, which aims to fortify the Global Volleyball Movement. We are confident that this championship will establish new benchmarks for excellence, innovation, sustainability, and community involvement. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the Dutch Volleyball Federation and local partners to ensure it is an unforgettable celebration, both on and off the sand. With a passionate fan base and a proven history of success, including the highly acclaimed 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships hosted across four cities, the Netherlands is once again prepared to deliver an outstanding World Championship.”

CEV President and FIVB 2nd Executive Vice-President Roko Sikirić echoed these sentiments, warmly welcoming the return of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships to the heart of Europe. He highlighted the Netherlands` long-standing prominence in Beach Volleyball, citing their highly successful CEV EuroBeachVolley 2024, which was recently hosted across three cities. Sikirić expressed confidence that the organizers will leverage these past experiences to further elevate the sport, and he extended an invitation to fans across Europe to seize this unique opportunity to witness elite competition combined with high-quality entertainment and an overall exceptional experience.

Nevobo President Peter Sprenger emphasized that hosting the 2027 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships is more than just a single tournament; it serves as a foundational step for sustainable growth and enduring social and economic benefits. He noted that their 15-year strategy of organizing international indoor and beach volleyball events has consistently demonstrated how the sport can inspire communities and attract new fans. As Beach Volleyball’s popularity continues to grow globally and within the Netherlands, Sprenger anticipates that this event will draw many new sport enthusiasts, inspire new generations, and strengthen community bonds, ultimately creating a lasting legacy that elevates Beach Volleyball nationwide and worldwide for years to come.
