At just 20 years old, Akimova made an explosive entry into Europe`s premier club competition. In her inaugural Champions League match against CS Volei Alba BLAJ, she was instrumental in Volero Le Cannet`s 3-2 victory, earning the Most Valuable Player award for her outstanding contribution. Even in her subsequent match, where her team faced defeat, Vita continued to impress by adding another 26 points to her tally.
This wasn`t Akimova`s first display of brilliance. Two years prior, she played a pivotal role for Russia at the U20 World Championship, where her team secured a third-place finish. Early Beginnings
Volleyball has been an integral part of Vita`s life since her childhood. Her journey in the sport began in second grade when her mother introduced her to a sports hall. She recalls, “Later, in fifth grade, I moved to another city where I started playing sports more seriously.”
Standing at an impressive 197cm, Vita possesses a formidable advantage for her teams. Her powerful spikes and unpredictable plays frequently prove decisive in matches. She has consistently excelled in the opposite position throughout her career, stating, “I have always been an opposite. There were moments when coaches tried me in other roles, but I always came back to the opposite one.”

Vita is among the fortunate few who instinctively recognized their true calling. Her inner compass clearly guided her towards a professional career in volleyball.
A New Chapter with Volero Le Cannet
The 2022/2023 season marks Vita`s first venture playing abroad, as she embraced the challenge with French club Volero Le Cannet. Prior to this, Akimova showcased her talents at clubs like Dinamo-Ak Bars and Sparta Nizhny Novgorod. She expresses her delight with the move, stating she feels “wonderful in France,” cherishing this new experience while seamlessly integrating into her new team.
