The Beginning

Théo began playing volleyball with friends at the age of 11. Before fully committing to volleyball, he had explored other sports. He recalls:

My parents are also volleyball players, and during holidays, I often used to play beach volleyball.

Turning Professional

An interesting aspect of Théo’s volleyball journey is that he played as an outside hitter before signing his first professional contract. For the 23-year-old Frenchman, the decision to turn professional felt natural, emerging from the feelings and emotions he experienced during youth tournaments, playing for his team, and securing important victories. He reflects:

At that time, you don’t yet understand what it means to play volleyball professionally, to build a career.

His enrollment in the Toulouse training center also marked a significant turning point in his decision.

The Champions League

Faure joined Montpellier in 2021, and with the club competing in the CEV Champions League – Volley, Europe’s premier club competition, Théo views this as an invaluable opportunity to gain significant experience. He states:

We are playing against some of the best teams and players. It’s a very high-level competition, and certainly a huge motivation to learn and develop as a player. It’s truly enjoyable, even though we’ve lost all four of our games so far. Nevertheless, we still have two home matches left against Friedrichshafen and Novi Sad, and our goal is to win both to continue our European journey in the CEV Cup. We don`t want our European campaign to end just yet.

Standing at 196 cm, Faure is currently the team`s top scorer in the competition. Despite his strong individual performance, he admits to feeling a slight frustration.

The French A League

As the reigning French champions, Montpellier began their season strongly by winning the Supercup, but subsequently encountered some challenges. He explains:

We secured the title last year and started this season with a Supercup victory. Following that, we faced some difficult periods due to injuries, a common occurrence for teams competing in both domestic and European tournaments. Our current objective is to rank among the top teams and secure the best possible seeding for the playoffs.
