The sensational women`s final at CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025 marked a historic milestone for Ukraine, as Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko fiercely battled to secure their nation`s first-ever gold medal.
The French duo, who had appeared invincible throughout the tournament, found themselves having to play catch-up in the first set. Nevertheless, in the latter part of the set, they managed to snatch a slender lead, which proved sufficient to claim the set and put one hand on the trophy.
The Ukrainians were not ready to surrender such a life-changing opportunity easily and returned to the court for the second set with immense motivation. Both teams displayed an intense brand of beach volleyball, but it was Ukraine that clinched the second set, setting up an enthralling tie-breaker.

Once again, the Ukrainians started stronger, but in a now familiar pattern, the French continued to mount comebacks, sustaining suspense throughout the tie-break. The conclusion was extraordinary: Ukraine secured their country`s inaugural medal and were crowned the new European Champions.
“This victory means everything to us and our country!”

In the bronze medal match, last year`s champions, Germany`s Muller/Tillman, once again ensured their spot on the podium. They decisively defeated Spain`s Alvarez/Moreno in straight sets, providing the enthusiastic crowd with further reasons to cheer.
