In a truly remarkable women`s final at the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025, Ukraine`s Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko achieved a monumental victory, securing their nation`s very first gold medal in the sport after an intense battle.
The French duo, who had maintained an undefeated streak throughout the tournament, faced a tough challenge. Although they managed to recover and seize a narrow lead to claim the first set, bringing them tantalizingly close to the championship trophy, the match was far from over.
Undeterred, the Ukrainian team returned to the court for the second set with extraordinary resolve, refusing to let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip away. Both teams displayed fierce and exceptional beach volleyball, but it was Ukraine that dominated the second set, forcing an exhilarating tie-breaker.

The tie-breaker saw the Ukrainians start strongly once more. However, in a familiar turn of events, the French resiliently fought their way back, maintaining an nail-biting suspense until the very end. The match concluded with an astounding finish, as Ukraine not only secured their country`s inaugural medal but were also crowned the new European Champions.
