The National Rugby League (LNR) has officially announced the new date for the postponed Top 14 Round 3 fixture.
The eagerly awaited encounter between Toulon and La Rochelle, which was initially called off last Sunday due to severe torrential rainfall and significant flood warnings, has now been successfully rescheduled for November 8th.
However, this revised date presents a notable challenge: it directly clashes with the French national team`s autumn international test match against South Africa. Consequently, the rescheduled Top 14 game is expected to proceed without several key international players who will be on national duty from both participating clubs.
La Rochelle anticipates a significant impact on their squad, as they will almost certainly be without their influential captain Gregory Alldritt, alongside Oscar Jegou and Paul Boudehent. Furthermore, a call-up for Nolan Le Garrec to the national team is also highly probable. Similarly, Toulon faces considerable squad selection uncertainties, with the availability of Jean-Baptiste Gros, Charles Ollivon, Esteban Abadie, Baptiste Serin, and Mathias Halagahu also in doubt due to potential international commitments.
