VakifBank Sports Club officially launched its 2025/2026 season with a celebratory event. The gathering was attended by key figures, including Club President Abdi Serdar Üstünsalih, members of the Board of Directors, General Manager Banu Can Schürmann, Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti, as well as the players and staff. The reigning champions of the Sultans League, VakifBank, hosted their season kickoff at the VakifBank Spor Sarayı.
During the event, Club President Abdi Serdar Üstünsalih remarked, “We are commencing the season with a revitalized and strengthened team. We possess one of the finest rosters globally, both in coaching expertise and player talent. A new season, brimming with intense competition and excitement, is once again upon us. Many of our athletes excelled with their national teams over the summer. I extend my congratulations to all our coaches and players, especially those representing Türkiye, which achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the world`s second-best team.”
Üstünsalih: “We are aiming for all available trophies.”
Üstünsalih further elaborated, “Our 17-player squad includes seven talents who have advanced from our club`s youth academy. This ratio is unmatched by any other top-tier team we compete against, whether in the league or across Europe, and it`s a source of immense pride for us. This season, we intend to contend for the championship in all four competitions we enter. We possess the necessary strength and quality to achieve this.”
“Our first opportunity for silverware will be the Super Cup, where we will face Fenerbahçe on October 8 in Ankara. This promises to be an exhilarating match, as always. We have complete faith in our team and are confident in securing the cup. We also extend our best wishes for success to our opponents and all teams participating this season.”
