This extraordinary talent is not new to the volleyball world. Two years prior, Akimova was a pivotal player for Russia`s U20 team, contributing to their third-place finish at the World Championship. The Beginning
Volleyball has been an integral part of Vita`s life since childhood. Her mother introduced her to the sport in second grade, marking her initial encounter with volleyball. She recalls: “Later, in fifth grade, I moved to another city where I started playing sports more seriously.”

Standing impressively at 197cm (approximately 6`5″), Vita possesses a formidable advantage for her teams. Her powerful spikes and unpredictable plays frequently dictate the course of a match. A master of the opposite hitter position, Akimova has consistently remained in this role. She states: “I have always been an opposite. There were moments when coaches tried me in other roles, but I always came back to the opposite one.”

Volero Le Cannet
The 2022/2023 season marks Akimova’s inaugural experience competing internationally, as she embraced the challenge with Volero Le Cannet. Prior to joining the French club, she honed her skills with Russian teams such as Dinamo-Ak Bars and Sparta Nizhny Novgorod. Vita expresses her delight with life in France, relishing this new chapter while seamlessly integrating into her new team.
