The Waratahs from New South Wales have emerged victorious, defeating the Western Force with a score of 33-26 in the grand final of the inaugural all-Australian Super Rugby AU tournament.
Historic Tournament Concludes
This historic first-ever purely Australian iteration of the shortened Super Rugby competition culminated in a triumph for the Waratahs. The tournament featured four Australian franchises, each playing three matches during the group stage. Following the preliminary rounds, the top two teams advanced to contest the Grand Final.
Grand Final Showdown
Despite the Western Force entering the decisive clash as the league leaders, the Waratahs displayed remarkable resilience and skill, overcoming their opponents` challenge to clinch the 33-26 victory. The New South Wales side powered through with five tries, successfully converting four of them, while conceding four tries to the Force. Waratahs flanker Clem Halaholo was deservedly named the Man of the Match for his pivotal performance.
