Renowned Dutch coach Remko Kenter, founder of `Action Volley` and Secretary of the European Coaches Commission (ECoC), will lead specialized volleyball coaching courses at the Riga Volleyball School in Latvia on October 15-16.

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a CEV certificate. These courses, conducted entirely in English, are a collaborative effort with CEV under the umbrella of the `Play Volleyball – Grow with it` School Project. `Action Volley`, established by Kenter in 2019 with the guiding principle “Volleyball through the eyes of children”, has significantly impacted youth coaching. To date, it has organized over 100 workshops across the Netherlands and 28 international sessions, training approximately 2,500 coaches and benefiting an estimated 30,000 children.

The curriculum is structured across two days: the first day focuses on introducing the foundational principles of `Action Volley`, while the second day delves into the dynamic `Smashball` game. Both days begin with a theoretical overview, followed by practical application sessions, concluding with a comprehensive exam.

Kenter stresses the critical role of youth coaches in connecting with children, ensuring a safe and supportive group environment, and adapting explanations to suit children`s language and understanding. He emphasizes that while the practical, active court sessions are undeniably the most enjoyable, they must always be guided by a clear and coherent vision.

Highlighting the evolving nature of youth engagement, Kenter observes that children today are more vocal and inquisitive. He notes that traditional volleyball coaching, with its intense focus on technical complexity, has sometimes made the sport feel unengaging, especially for boys, leading to declining participation in many regions. However, innovative approaches like `Action Volley` and `Smashball` are transforming this by prioritizing fun and accessibility, making the game more enjoyable and comprehensible for children. Modern coaches, Kenter advises, must cultivate autonomy and stronger connections with their players.

The course fee is €70, which covers both theoretical and practical training modules, alongside lunch and coffee breaks. Daily sessions are scheduled from 9:00 to 17:00, including a one-hour lunch break. Interested coaches should note that spaces are limited. Applications must be submitted by October 10 via the following link:
